The Chevy Chase Arcade, a rare indoor shopping arcade on Connecticut Avenue

The arcade went up on Connecticut Avenue in 1925 at the head of the Maryland suburb, a small Classical Revival building with shops lining an interior passage that runs through to the back. It is an unusual building type for Washington, which built strips and department stores instead. It joined the National Register in 2003.
