The Byron Nelson was the first PGA Tour stop named for a golfer
1968
TPC Craig Ranch, McKinney, Texas
The tournament began in 1944 as the Texas Victory Open, which Byron Nelson won by ten strokes. In 1968 it took his name, making it the first regular stop on the PGA Tour named for a professional golfer, and it has since raised more than $143 million for charity, more than any other tournament on the tour. It moved north out of Dallas to TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney in 2021.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
