The Blackstone Hotel sits empty for twenty years
1929
Main Street, Fort Worth, Texas
Built in 1929 with terracotta ornament and stepped Art Deco setbacks, the Blackstone is still the tallest hotel in downtown Fort Worth at 268 feet. Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon all stayed here, and so did Bob Hope, Clark Gable and Elvis Presley. It ran for over fifty years, then stood vacant for nearly twenty before it was restored.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
