The Black Jesus at Sacred Heart Seminary
1967

During the 1967 uprising someone climbed a ladder at the corner of Chicago and Linwood and painted the face, hands and feet of the seminary's white stone Christ black. In September it was painted white again overnight. The seminary decided within three days to repaint it black permanently, and it has stayed that way. The archdiocese still trains its priests on this campus.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
