The Bergin Hunt and Fish Club, John Gotti's clubhouse

Two connected storefronts on 101st Avenue served the Gambino crime family as a clubhouse, with no hunting or fishing involved. John Gotti took the place over in 1977 and ran truck hijacking and loansharking from it, keeping a back office with a barber chair and a closet of made to measure suits. The murder of Paul Castellano in December 1985, which put Gotti at the head of the family, was organised here. The club closed in 2005 and the space is now a shop and a church.
