The Ben Franklin Bridge opens as the longest suspension span on earth
1926
Camden, New Jersey

Opened for the 1926 sesquicentennial as simply the Delaware River Bridge, it had the longest suspension span in the world at 1,750 feet. Ralph Modjeski engineered it and Paul Cret gave it the stone anchorages. It ended the ferry age between Philadelphia and Camden in a stroke, and it carries road traffic, the PATCO trains and a walkway. It was renamed for Franklin in 1956.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
