The B and C Grocery Building
1939
Royal Oak, Michigan
Andrew Jameson · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Built in 1939 on South Main Street for a grocery chain founded in Detroit in the early 1920s that had already opened two stores in Royal Oak by 1930. It is a rare surviving purpose-built neighbourhood grocery from the years just before the supermarket swallowed the trade, and it went on the National Register in 2006.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
