The Alhambra, the oldest dinner theatre still running in the country
1967
Jacksonville, Florida
Ted Johnson and George Ballis opened the Alhambra on Beach Boulevard in July 1967, and it has served a meal and a play without a break ever since, longer than any other professional dinner theatre in the United States. For its first fifteen years it sold tickets on screen and television names, beginning with Dawn Wells of Gilligan's Island. It later dropped the visiting star system and kept a resident professional company instead.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
