St. Luke AME Church holds Main Street since 1889

Ellicott City, Maryland
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
This African Methodist Episcopal congregation put up its building at 8411 Main Street in 1889. It stands on the town's principal commercial street rather than tucked behind it, which in Maryland at the time was not the default. It is one of two historic Black churches on Ellicott City's Main Street.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
