Snowden walks out of the tunnel
2013
Kunia, Oahu, Hawaii
The NSA's Hawaii operation ran out of a windowless facility built under a pineapple field in 1942, and in the spring of 2013 a Booz Allen contractor named Edward Snowden copied its secrets onto drives, told his employer he needed epilepsy treatment, and boarded a flight to Hong Kong. What he carried out revealed PRISM and the mass surveillance programs, and the argument about whether that made him a whistleblower or a traitor has never ended. The tunnel is still there and still working.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
