Digital Equipment set up in an old woollen mill and built computers small enough for a lab to own, which broke the mainframe's grip. The ring road around Boston became America's first technology corridor, and then lost the lead to Silicon Valley by betting against the personal computer.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
