Red Oak loses its post office to the war
1849
Red Oak, Fulton County, Georgia
A Baptist minister named William Harrison Walker took charge of the Red Oak post office when it opened in 1849, on the road running southwest out of Atlanta. Fighting in 1864 destroyed the building. Red Oak never incorporated as a town and is now part of the city of South Fulton.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
