Fort Nassau, the Dutch post that nobody can find
1623
Gloucester City, New Jersey

The Dutch West India Company put a trading post called Fort Nassau near the mouth of Big Timber Creek in 1623, the first European foothold on the Delaware and the beginning of Gloucester City. It was abandoned and demolished in 1651 and its exact site has never been located, which is why this pin marks the city rather than the fort. Hugg's Tavern later stood at the ferry landing here, home of the Gloucester Fox Hunting Club of 1766, until a county parks commission tore it down in 1927.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
