Named for a fort the Army began building on December 25, 1837, during the Second Seminole War. Every December the tiny post office drowns in mail from strangers who want the Christmas postmark, and the town keeps a decorated tree up all year on the theory that it is always Christmas here.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
