A Frenchman began shipping bullfrogs from the local marsh to New Orleans restaurants and then to Paris, and for decades this was the centre of the American frog trade. The industry is long gone and the town has leaned into it anyway, with murals of frogs on the buildings and a festival, which is the honest way to handle a former economy.
