The developers of this 1969 country club community paid the Houston Golf Association 25,000 dollars to move the PGA Tour's Houston Open out to Missouri City. The 1973 event ran on a hybrid routing stitched together from the club's two courses, and Bruce Crampton won it by a stroke over Dave Stockton. The tournament came back in 1974 and then left. Quail Valley is public golf now, owned by the city.
