Cream of Wheat comes out of a Grand Forks mill

Millers at the Diamond Mill were in trouble in the depression year of 1893 and began selling the middlings, a by-product usually fed to animals, as a breakfast cereal. They sent ten cases east with a flour shipment and had a telegram back asking for a carload. The brand's long-running Black chef trademark was drawn from a Chicago waiter and is now studied mainly as an example of how these images worked.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
