The hospital opened in 1965 on what was then the rural northwest fringe of Hialeah, before the subdivisions and warehouse belt reached it. Cuban arrivals filled the surrounding neighbourhoods over the following years and the wards ended up running in Spanish as much as English, which is still how the place works. It now holds 247 beds on a fifteen acre campus and is a designated teaching hospital. Larkin Community Hospital bought it in 2016 and runs it as its Palm Springs campus.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
