Old Ship Church, the oldest church building still in use in the country
1681
Hingham, Massachusetts

Hingham's Puritans put up this meetinghouse in 1681 and their congregation, gathered in 1635, has never stopped using it. It is the only 17th century Puritan meetinghouse left in the United States, and the roof frame overhead is the reason for the name. It was made a National Historic Landmark in 1960.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
