Nesbitt Union Chapel, a rammed earth church now down to one corner

The chapel was raised around 1880 out of rammed earth, a method almost unheard of in rural Georgia churches, and finished in Gothic Revival style with arched windows and door. In 1886 the Nesbitts sold it to trustees under a deed that opened it to every Christian denomination and to schools and agricultural societies. Preachers rotated through it into the 1910s. It was unsafe by the 1940s and one corner is left, hidden from the road by trees.
