Nauck drops the Confederate name and becomes Green Valley
2019
Green Valley, Arlington, Virginia
The neighbourhood took its name from John D. Nauck, a former Confederate soldier who subdivided and sold 46 acres of farmland here between 1874 and 1900. Residents had used the older name Green Valley all along, and in 2019 the county made that the official one. It is one of south Arlington's oldest Black neighbourhoods, bounded by Four Mile Run, Shirlington and Interstate 395.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
