Moswetuset Hummock, the hill that gave Massachusetts its name
1621
Quincy, Massachusetts
Sunnywintermorning · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons
This wooded rise above Quincy Bay was the warm season council seat of Chickatawbut, sachem of the Moswetuset, and the tribe's name is the one the whole state carries. Myles Standish and Tisquantum are understood to have come here from Plymouth in 1621 to negotiate with him. Descendants of the Ponkapoag recognise the hummock as a historic site.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
