Mohammed Schools, the only K-12 Islamic campus in metro Atlanta

The Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam started this school in 1980 and named it for Clara Mohammed, whose insistence on teaching her own children is the origin story of Black Muslim schooling in America. It runs from preschool through twelfth grade, which makes it the only Islamic campus in metro Atlanta covering the whole span, and it enrolled around 300 students at the turn of the century. The lower grades still carry Clara Mohammed's name and the high school carries Warith Deen Mohammed's.
