Minnehaha Grange No. 398 formed on December 23, 1873, drawing members from the milling settlements at Edina Mills, Richfield Mills, St. Louis Park and Hopkins. The Grange had started six years earlier under Oliver Kelley at Elk River and spread across the country as a farmers' movement against railroad freight rates and for farm education. The hall was later moved to Tupa Park, where it stands beside the Cahill schoolhouse.
