Milk Row Cemetery, the only burying ground Somerville ever opened

Samuel Tufts gave the land in 1804, when Somerville was still part of Charlestown and most local families buried their dead at Phipps Street or later at Mount Auburn. That kept the cemetery small, and it remained the only one the city ever opened inside its own limits. Somerville unlocks it for tours.
