Meadowbrook, the oldest polo club in America
1881
Old Westbury, New York
Founded in 1881 as the Meadow Brook Club, this is the oldest polo club in the United States still playing. Its Westbury grounds held the national open from 1923 to 1953, and the 1928 Cup of the Americas against Argentina drew more than a hundred thousand people over three days. The state took the old fields in 1954 to build the Meadowbrook Parkway, and the club moved to Old Westbury, where the matches continue.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
