John Eberson built his atmospheric theatres to feel like open courtyards, with a domed ceiling lit as a night sky, real stars drifting across it and clouds thrown by a machine. The Paradise opened on 7 September 1929 with nearly 4,000 seats, second in the city only to Radio City. Both the front and the auditorium are protected landmarks.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
