Joliet Memorial Stadium
1951
Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois
The Junior Chamber of Commerce started pushing for a stadium in 1946, and the park district told them to prove the public wanted one before it would spend anything. They came back with the signatures inside a month. The 10,000-seat ground opened in 1951, dedicated to Joliet people who served in the two world wars and Korea.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
