Jennings schools add a shelter, a food pantry and a health clinic
2015
Jennings, Missouri
Superintendent Tiffany Anderson took over one of Missouri's worst performing districts in 2012 and started treating poverty as the thing to fix. Jennings opened a food pantry, a health clinic and a shelter that could house up to ten homeless or foster students, and put washing machines where families could reach them. The district regained full state accreditation in 2015 for the first time in more than a decade.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
