Isle Royale and the wolves
1940
Keweenaw County, Michigan
William Wadas · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons
An island park closed all winter and reachable only by boat or seaplane, with the fewest visitors of any park in the lower 48. Its wolves and moose have been studied continuously since 1958, the longest predator-prey study anywhere, and wolves were flown in from Canada when the population collapsed to two.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
