Minnesota held the last wild wolves in the lower forty-eight through the years the rest of the country killed them off, and the population recovered from this country outward. A town at the edge of the canoe wilderness, half outfitters, half former miners, built a centre around a live pack, on the theory that people argue less about an animal they have watched.
