Howellville disappears with the railroad that made it
1900
Harris County, Texas
Howellville started as a stop on a rail line that no longer exists, sitting about halfway between the farm settlements of Clodine and Alief. The line went, the town went with it, and Greater Houston grew over the spot. Two road names, Alief Clodine and Sugar Land Howell, are most of what survives. There is no sign at the crossroads telling you that you are there.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
