Hunter and Mary Alice Farrell built this late-Victorian farmhouse in 1891 in the middle of a 365-acre working farm on the blackland prairie. Their daughter Ammie took over the operation after the couple divorced in 1929 and became an award-winning livestock breeder before her death in 1972. Four and a half acres survived the suburb that grew over the rest, and the house opened as a living museum in 1986.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
