Great Basin and the bristlecones
1986
White Pine County, Nevada
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
One of the least visited national parks, holding a small glacier and groves of bristlecone pine, the oldest non-clonal organisms on earth. In 1964 a researcher cut down one called Prometheus to count its rings and found it was around 4,900 years old, the oldest tree ever known.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
