Grand View Memorial Park, Glendale's first cemetery and a scandal over unburied ashes
1884
Glendale, California
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
This ground opened as Glendale Cemetery in 1884, twenty two years before Glendale incorporated as a city, and took the name Grand View Memorial Park in 1919. In 2005 its operators were accused of leaving thousands of cremated remains unburied on the property, and the case left the grounds in limbo for a decade. New owners bought the site in 2015, renamed it Grand View Memorial Park and Crematory, and started restoring it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
