The monument on the lawn of the Glendale Public Library, dedicated in 2002, is not only sculpture. Worked into it is rusted steel cut from the potato locker in the galley of the USS Arizona, sunk at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, along with rings taken from the flagpole at the ship's memorial in Honolulu. Joe Tyler designed it with ceramist Scott Cisson and sculptor Sylvania Anderson.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
