Gadsden's Wharf, where a hundred thousand people were landed and sold

Something close to half of all enslaved Africans brought to North America came through Charleston, and a great many landed at this wharf. The International African American Museum opened on the site in 2023, deliberately raised on pillars so the ground itself is left untouched.
