Four suburbs name themselves the Best Southwest

Duncanville, Cedar Hill, DeSoto and Lancaster formed the Best Southwest Partnership in 1986 to chase development together instead of against each other. The four cities sit in a row along the southwest edge of Dallas County and had spent years being described only as the part of Dallas nobody meant. The name stuck hard enough that the region is still called the Best Southwest, and the partnership now takes in ten cities.
