Fort McPherson becomes Tyler Perry Studios
2015
Fort McPherson, Atlanta and East Point, Georgia
The Army built a permanent post here in 1885, and over the next century it served as a Spanish American War hospital, an internment camp for German prisoners in the First World War, and a processing centre in the Second. It closed in 2011. Tyler Perry bought 330 acres of it in 2015 and turned the parade ground and barracks into the largest film studio owned by one person in the country.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
