Florissant Valley opens as one of St. Louis's first community college campuses
1966
Ferguson, Missouri
City and county voters approved a joint junior college district in 1962, and the first classes met the following January in borrowed high school rooms with 798 students enrolled. Three purpose built campuses followed in 1966, and this 108 acre site in Ferguson was one of them. Over seven thousand students still attend it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
