John Lewis Childs came to the hamlet of East Hinsdale in 1874 to sell seeds and ended up owning several hundred acres of it: glasshouses, seed beds, a rail spur and a mail order business that shipped bulbs worldwide. He laid out streets and named them after flowers, and in 1891 the post office was renamed to match his advertising. The village kept the name after the flower fields were built over.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
