Ground broke in 1989 on a Graham Gund building at the edge of the old Fernbank woods, and the museum opened to the public on 5 October 1992. Its atrium holds Giants of the Mesozoic, built around a 123 foot Argentinosaurus, the largest dinosaur science has formally described, with a Giganotosaurus mounted beside it. The permanent exhibition downstairs runs the geology of Georgia and the history of the planet as one story rather than two.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
