Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle met working at Riverview Park
1915
Baltimore, Maryland
Riverview opened off Broening Parkway in 1890 with a roller coaster, water rides and a bandstand, and ran for almost forty years as Baltimore's working class summer resort. Two musicians hired to play there struck up a partnership that outlasted the park: Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle, who met there on May 16, 1915 and went on to write Shuffle Along. The park closed in 1929 and Western Electric bought the ground at auction and put a plant on it. Nothing of it is thought to survive.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
