East Point put its city hall, auditorium and New Deal library on one block
1939
East Point, Georgia
East Point spent the 1930s putting its civic life on a single downtown block. City hall went up in 1930 and the memorial auditorium was finished the next year to match it, and in 1939 the Public Works Administration paid for the library that completed the set, next to Victory Park. Since 2011 the block has been pulled between developers who want the land and preservationists who want the buildings.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
