Donald Ross laid out Edgewood while he was drawing Pinehurst No. 2
1921
Churchill, Pennsylvania
The club began in 1898 down in Edgewood, a golf and social club for men working around the Pittsburgh mills, and moved up the hill to Churchill in 1921. Donald Ross designed the new course while he was concurrently working on Pinehurst No. 2. There is no water anywhere on it. The defence is the bunkering and the greens, which run around twelve on the stimpmeter, and the layout was restored to Ross's original at the club's centenary.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
