Doe's Eat Place and the hot tamale

A grocery that became a restaurant where the kitchen is the front room and steaks are cooked on the same stove the family used. It also sells hot tamales, which are a Delta staple, most likely brought north by Mexican farm labour and taken up by Black cooks, boiled in corn husks rather than steamed, and sold by the dozen from carts long before anyone wrote it down.
