Coady is sold off in a newspaper advertisement
1926
Coady, Texas
John J. Coady of Goose Creek placed an advertisement in the Houston Chronicle in January 1926 offering 19 acre tracts to anyone who wanted to start a truck farm. The land changed hands twice within months and was cut up further, and the next year an interurban railway listed Coady as a stop. By 1930 most of the people living there worked at something other than farming. A church, a water tank and an abandoned rail station were still standing at the site in the 1980s.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
