A glass hall cantilevered toward the Arkansas River, built to echo the bridge to the 21st century Clinton kept promising, beside a rusting rail bridge later restored for walkers as if to complete the figure. It opened in 2004 in a fading warehouse district that redeveloped around it, and the archive was the largest a president had ever left: eighty million pages, two million photographs and twenty one million emails.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
