Beavertail Light
1749
Jamestown, Rhode Island
Lara · CC BY 2.0 · Wikimedia Commons
The third lighthouse ever built in the American colonies, guarding the mouth of Narragansett Bay since 1749. The British burned it on their way out of the Revolution and the point has been rebuilt and re-lit ever since. The rocks below the tower are where Rhode Islanders go to watch storms come in, close enough to taste them, occasionally closer than the police would like.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
