Amberton University admits nobody under twenty-one and has no dorms, no teams and no cafeteria
1971
Garland, Texas
It started in Mesquite in September 1971 as an extension campus of Abilene Christian University and moved to Garland in 1974, into a two storey office building chosen deliberately because working adults did not need a quad. The rule was that no one under twenty-one could enrol, and the average student was thirty-seven. Accreditation came in 1981, the split from Abilene Christian in 1982 under the name Amber University, and the present name in 2001. Most of its coursework is now done online.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
